We have chosen costa sands pasir ris cause they have double storey room to accomodate all of us. There is a bbq pit right outside the door so we don't have to pay extra charge for it. We'll be spending the money leftover from paying for the chalet on food and drinks and maybe some random stuff. Pls try to make it for the chalet kaes! And pay up asap cause we need to return the money to Mdm Yeoh!!

Class Tee-Shirt Design_v1.0a

Dear S61,

After a few rounds of selection and debating as well as democratic voting, the Class Tee-Shirt design is more or less finalized... and I am happy to upload these finalized designs for your viewing and final adjustments=)

The theme is still on horoscope and I have purposely made the color as well as the end of sleeves having different color. For the ladies, we will have baby blue and for the guys, baby pink=)

Color scheme for the characters will mostly be black and tinge of bloody red, which firstly, reduce the printing cost and secondly, reduce conflict.

The choice of the font is subjected to change though I am pretty happy with the currently selection=P

Let me continue from where I left yesterday...

Manlok has rightly pointed out that there ain't an universal design and there ain't anywhere states our class identity.
Well... It was actually meant to be at the back of the tee, you know, near the collar there, then will have a line printed like "07S61" or something... Yeah. Hope you guys won't mind cuz i think it's essentially the design matters more ba...

Anyway, I actually have a few other designs in line with the horoscope theme...
here they are!

I have a few roundneck design as well... Firstly, the Leo.

Also, I did a scorpio too=)

I wanted to sell the class, so came up with this price tag idea... I know the yellow color is very off... I know.

I got a very random typography to share, so just make it into the shirt... Color combi wise is definitely in need of further refinement...ya

Also, got very simplistic version of the horoscopes...

Also, I tried out the CT-made-out-of-names way so I used the honourable name of Mdm Yeoh to illustrate... Apparently, the font is too small and you can't actually tell.. haha...but i hope you get what i mean=)

Yeah. After some modification and careful selection, the very first public draft is out! Do allow me to do a short presentation before I show you guys the actual design.

Well... 07S61, being a uniquely special class that is so outstanding among all CTs in Hwa Chong Institution (College Section), is essentially a wonderful class full of wonderfully unique individuals! Hence, our Class Tee-shirt, besides being a symbol of our unity, must show the individuality of each of us! Since putting everybody's name on the back of the shirt is so common nowadays and highlighting the particular one's name in a whole list of names became a common practice, we shall do something different.

So.... after much consideration... Let's use horoscope!!

Econs Essay on GT stall

Hi Class! Dun read this message unless u have absolutely nothing to do! This essay to dedicated to our two econs reps, siyao and xianzhe, and also to the junior class :P

Discuss all economic topics with regards to the S61 Guo Tie stall in the street market in HC during CNY. [25]

The S61 Gui Tie stall can be said to exist in a duopoly. However, we must first analyses the central problem of economics, which is scarcity in terms of the street market.

Scarcity refers to the situation where the limited resources available are unable to satisfy the unlimited human wnats. With references to the guo tie (GT), we can see that there is a limited number of GT available to many consumers, and there is also limited resouces which the stall have to face. The various forms of inputs are limited. For example, the land allocated to the stall was only the area of one table and one chair. Thus, labour that can be squeezed into such a small area will be lesser.This can be further discussed in the LDMR. Capital goods tgeb us provided is fixed, in the form of GT and cooker. However, due to the entrepreneurship of some members of the stall, they were able to invest in other capital, that will be discuss in the section of EOS. To ensure resources are used at full capacity, 61 have to decide on what to produce and how much to produce in a given set of time. Also, they have to decide on the method of production that will achieve maximum effiency, and also for whom to produce GT for. All three questions have already being answered even before the stall was set up. Using the PPC model, we can see that 61 focus on being at the PPC itself, to sell out all GT asap.

Now, using the demand supply analysis method, we are able to determine the equilbrium level of GT. During the course of the street market, lots of consumers demand GT, this lead to a shortage of the good in demand, and competition amon the consumers drive up competition. However, the number of GT stall have being fixed, thus demand can only be spread throughout the two stalls. Thus, from this the demand curve will shift right, while the supply curve stays. Equilbirum point shift upwards. However, as the production rate of GT was slow at the beginning, supply slowly decreased at first, and equilbirum point is brought upward.Thus, prices can be seen to have go up, while the change in quantity can only be determined by the different magnitude of shift. Without government intervention, the equilbrium level will be determined solely based on market conditions.

Having covered the D&S of the stall, we are able to move on to the market structure and cost theory to understand the various steps taken by 61 in handling the increasing demand. To do this we have to assume the firm seek to maximise profit, which is defined to be total revenue minus the total cost. In the short run, fixed factors include land and labour etc etc. However, during the long run, all factors of productio nare variable. When more labour squeeze into the now fixed piece of land, the LDMR kicks into action. The productivity of each additional member decrease, until the maximum output level is constant. Later on, EOS is encountered by the stall. EOS occur when unit cost fall as output increases, and can be classified into two groups, Internal EOs or External EOS. Some internal EOS experienced by the stall includ technical EOS. There is a division of labour, as different people specialize in some form, for example, advertising, money collecting, cooking or even stoning. Thus, a production line is formed to boost efficency. Later on, having buy over the malay stall for free, there is indivisbilities, when large machine in fixed size can be employed, e.g of large wok to cook more GT in shorter period of time. Fixed cost is thus spread over larger output, and unit cost decreases. R&D was carried out to conduct the successful merger of the 61 stall and the Malay stall. IN terms of marketing EOS, bulk purchase and bulk distribution helps to be more cost efficient. Large scale Advertising can also be carried out after seeking permission from the government, in this case, the school. having gone over the various cost theory, we now bring our focus back to the market structure of the street market.
The street market can be argued to be PC, Monopolistic Competition, Oligopoly, and even Monopoly! We try to analyse the various charactestics of the street market that fits each market structure.

However, since the question stated to be with regards to only GT stall, the most likely market structure is Oligopoly. LAstly, in terms of mircoeconomics, we have to examine the possibility of market Failure. the only type of market failure is prehaps externalities. The loud noise pollutin and also pollution from other stalls means that the social marginal cost is understated. there will thus be a welfare loss due to overproduction. To correct this, we can regulate all other stalls to cut down on noise level and pollution.

All in all, the GT stall is able to present most mircoecnomics points and this will be able to help future s61 stalls when they set up their stalls in the street market during CNY. =)

Yieo everyone! yupp... just dropping by to inform u all that the class contact list is fully completed. thanks everyone for helping to check the erroneous list i passed down today. special apology to zi guan that his name was totally left out... the reason being i was trying to integrate my original list with kah ming's list (with new classmates) at wee hours of the morning. so basically sorta screwed up. haha. anyway i doubt the new list will have anymore errors (that's why im confident enough to write this post so soon).

Ok basically, the list comes in 2 versions: the full one and the simplified one. the full one being well... everything inside. the simplified one was created to fit critical info in one page. basically the secondary schools we came from was ommitted, then all unneccessary spacing also reduced. plus the home address was simplified from "Singapore xxxxxx" to "S(xxxxxx)". still got other reductions u can find out for yourself. i better dun lame u all anymore.

Oh yeah special thanks (as opposed to special apology) to kah ming for starting the initial compilation. yeah and sorry that i KSed the compilation. Last words: Its a fresh new term! with new members comes a new beginning. lets all work towards a better future! =_='''

our class video is so damn zai. when i was watching it, i was so damn gan dong. man lok is so damn pro. 2 months yet we have so many memories, it's such a wonderful 2 months. i'll never forget it. it's a sure thing that we won be having lesson together again, as in as a whole class, but i'm sure our hearts stay together. yep. so people, pls dun lose contacts. we shall have outings every half a year or even more often!

as the poll result is 不分上下. so i've decided to let everyone go SENTOSA at around 1:30pm and then we can go vivo to eat dinner or have HIGH TEA. isn't it good?? lol! more people wanna go marina sqaure, but beside pool and movie and bowling wad can we do? so if we go sentosa, we can go to the beach and play. those who miss swimming so much can also swim. those wanna play ball games also can play. then if you all really wanna go play pool, bowling or watch movie, we can just go vivo. though it's a bit far, but.................(no reason) erm...(thinking of one) JUST go there! basically and seriously, i recommend gim thia and william to go to the coffee factory to take a look since both of you sound very interested in it. but honestly, the post is pretty interesting. but i was thinking what is the link between the high caffein and the high milk content? ok LOL. lets just move on. today man lok decided to bring another set of hwa chong uniform for ivan and in my opinion, cat. high should consider changing their higher sec pants to long one. lol, coz ivan defenitely looks 'handsomer' in it. haha.

Coffee Sweet Theorem (the real version)

William has demonstrated a lack of understanding of the true essence of the coffee sweet theorem. Let me (I'm Gim Thia) give u the true picture:

The theorem seeks to explain why a small coffee sweet is able to keep a person awake, based on the known fact (experiment-shown) that coffee sweet is able to treat gastric pains that are caused by prolonged lack of food.

Coffee sweet is able to treat gastric pains that are caused by prolonged lack of food. (given)
Thus, coffee sweet contains milk that can neutralise the acid chyme in the stomach.
There is high milk content because milk must be present in sufficiently high amounts for it to take effect.
Since the amount of coffee present in the coffee sweet is approx. proportional to the amount of milk present, there is high coffee content too.
A high coffee content implies that the level of caffeine is also high.
A high caffeine level causes a person to feel awake.

Disclaimer
The original coffee sweet theorem was criticised for the lack of linkage between the idea that a high milk content implies a high caffeine level. This was initially explained wrongly by Gim Thia, who simply gave a generalisation that since there is high milk content, there is "high everything". After some thought, Gim Thia found the missing link and presented the new thesis the next day.
Hence, William has got a wrong perception of the coffee sweet theorem (even the original one).

Sorry everyone, just wanted to play along with William and establish the facts. No offence to William whatsoever. =)

Generally speaking,

I think maybe Zhou Kang is referring to the ethnic dilemma and or the different philosophies behind them (I copied them down, so you can ask them from me). Do forgive me if I guessed wrongly.

Now let me elaborate on them. Anyway for GP lessons, we have a few such questions. For instance, we have this question on a baby being held hostage by a terrorist on a plane, should we risk our lives saving the baby knowing that trying to save the baby will get it killed?

Then the class went on to give their take on the issues, like whether it’s worth risking our lives knowing that nothing much can be salvaged, or to just take a gamble in the hope that the baby may be still saved.

Just felt like posting a random post here, since I don't have any photos to post.

During Chem lecture on Friday, I suddenly have this random idea regarding how to differentiate a pipette from a burette, since I used to mix up the two names =P

To use a pipette, you need to press the top end, hence the name starts with a "p".
To use a burette, you need to press the bottom end, hence the name starts with a "b".

Okay that was seriously random. Let's talk about some other major events that happened this week.

GUYS! tania just came back from dramafeste's rehearsal, so tired haha. anw, tania feels terribly sorry coz tania lost the list of people who will be working with fantastic tania to do the LANTERN! HAHA. so is it ok if all those LANTERN people could report to me tmr during the jts? THANKS A LOT!

and yesh! tmr's CIP AND JTS day! i'm so so excited! and i must share this with EVERYONE! yesterday i went to buy the ingredients for the JTS and decided to let my maid cook coz:

1) BBQ pits are all fully booked.
2) i called all the caterings companies i could find in yellowpage and it's either $14++ per person or the food sucks.

so in the end, my maid cooking for us YAY! and i bought 3 trolleys of food and drinks man. the cashier aunty was so damn shocked. LOL. and now the problem came, i was pushing the trolley towards the taxi stand and there was this uncle who was in charge of pushing the trolley back to NTUC. so when i reached the tai stand, he sort of like rushing me coz the time was pretty late and because of that, one the trolleys banged into the TAXI!! OMT! and sadly, i've got to pay for the damage!!! WUA! ok nvm, shall not say much about that.

tmr, i hope everything will be ok ^_^. and hope it'll be a success! YEP! GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE! tania LOVES s61!!!

hey guys! it's my first post here!! lolx...

btw the topic of blog template seems quite prominant on the tagboard... anyone in for the idea of a customised 07S61 blog skin??? i can create a one and only blog skin for this blog, so that there won't be a problem of having the same skin as other blogs (though i don't think it's a big problem... shows our unity wif other classes anyway). if everyone is agreeable, i can start working on it. it shld take no more than 2 hrs to create it, though i can only start work next sunday. lol. most likely the only pic i would use is the class flag... and i'll use photoshop to make it blend into the background? (that takes another 1/2 hr) lol i think i'll keep this background colour, though i thought the flag would blend better into a black one... wad do ya think?

open to discussion. if ppl have any comments or suggestions, or is able to come up with a customised skin before next sunday, or strongly feels that we shld keep this skin, pls raise them. thx XD
